Tasha has been nervous for 2 days now, I think she picks up on the drop in pressure. She hates thunder, so it will be a tough day for her today.
Some of the cats love to watch the blowing out the windows, but at some point it got too much, most of them have moved down cellar now.
The other dogs don't seem too bothered - yet. We do have one good sized tree limb down in the back yard -- Willy spotted that immediately this morning when they went out to pee. He barked at it, all his hackles up -- he knew it didn't belong there!![]()
.
Mikey is absolutely terrified. He barks all day if it's thundering out. It's ONLY thunder and lightning though. Last night during Irene, he wasn't barking or crying or anything because there wasn't thunder. He was put on Xanax for it, didn't work, and then she offered him some kind of sedatives for both thunder and fireworks and it didn't work. If anything it made him MORE hyper.
Layla is terrified of storms. She hides in the bathrom.![]()

Poor guy. Yeah, there wasn't any thunder or lightening during Irene. Which was good, seems to scare some of the fur-pets.
It is odd how some are so sensitive to it and others aren't!
"Move branch, get back in that tree, NOW!".
My crew are fine, unless (for the dogs) it starts to thunder. Taffy gets jumpy with things that sound like fireworks.
Lots of love all around to them all, the storm is over now!![]()

Cassie, my cat, will hide under my bed or in her special spot in the closet. She doesn't like any loud noises (thunder, fireworks).

"That's the power of kittens (and puppies too, of course): They can reduce us to quivering masses of Jell-O in about two seconds flat and make us like it. Good thing they don't have opposable thumbs or they'd surely have taken over the world by now." -- Paul Lukas

Storms don't faze Myndi in the least. She slept thru the earthquake in her usual spot under my desk, and only protested having to go out in the rain during the hurricane because she didn't want to get wet, and thunder doesn't bother her at all.
Sparky seems to be outgrowing the fear of thunder that he developed a few years ago. He no longer cries and wants to be picked up at the first little rumble. I don't even have the foggiest, where in the house he was during the earthquake, and he didn't like the heavy rain and wind gusts of the hurricane when I took them both out. Other than that, it didn't bother either one of them.

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.
Ecclesiastes 3:1The clock of life is wound but once and no man has the power
To know just when the hands will stop - on what day, or what hour.
Now is the only time you have, so live it with a will -
Don't wait until tomorrow - the hands may then be still.
