I'm sure if you make 'em move, they'll then climb onto your lap once you are settled!

I think we reached 110 today. Super hot. I'm still going to the zoo with clara in the mornings, and we both sweat the whole time, but that's about the only issue. I don't really complain about the weather, regardless of the season, but we could really use the rain right now!

Nah. "Shirley" the Cavalier in the middle of the pic, hogs the fire every night now. Poor little girl hasn't long to go, so I let her be. She must be near on 14 years old now (I got her when April turned 5yo). She has cataracts in both eyes, so can hardly see, and her muscles are shot, she limps and can't run any more. So we give her lots of treats and the pick of the spot in front of the fireplace.

I'm in Iowa trying to escape the Florida heat and I'm failing miserably! Was 102 yesterday and felt like 110. Yuck!

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

During the heatwave last week the weatherman on our local news ran videos of one of our January blizzards. As a diehard winter lover, it was beautiful and now I can't wait for snow season!

Please everyone, care for the animals and be sure to drink plenty of water so you don't dehydrate. My doctor said if you wait until you're thirsty, it's too late.

Heavy rain last night, still pouring this morning and it was only 9 degrees. But it's gone up to 29 and still lots of humidity so it isn't too comfy. The sun keeps trying to pop out but the black clouds are winning. I think the sun will show only this evening.

I don't know how you are all coping with these high temperature which I'd find absolutely impossible. Good job I live in Seattle where we have had 78 hours of summer:
