How big is your house/apartment? *And yard?

Thanks for the replies everyone its interesting to hear about all of your houses/apartments.

I'm looking in north utah county, like Pleasant Grove, American Fork, Lindon, Orem, etc. I don't know if Utah county or Salt Lake County is more expensive, but neither are cheap and its hard to find a house with a decent yard.

About half of my hard is taken up with a pretty good size pool that gets used e months out of the year but I still like it and enjoy sitting by it with my coffee even in the winter. I have a round concrete pad from when the kids were here and there is a trampolie, I found this round settee thing on walmart.com that I can lounge on with the animals and read its in the shade...I may have to ask for that for valentines day.

I live in a condo on the second floor and it's 900 and something square feet. It has 2 large bedrooms and a 2 full bathrooms, a fairly small kitchen that looks into the dining room and the living and dining room is just one big room. I guess you'd say it's an open concept thing. I also have a small balcony which I rarely use.

There are common areas that have grass, trees, and nice flowers and it also has 2 pools, a hot tub,a tennis court,and a clubhouse. There are also grills in the common areas to use because we can't have grills on our balconies due to it being a fire hazard.

I used to rent out the second bedroom but now I live here by myself and I have 6 cats so it's plenty big enough for me. I hate to clean and I wouldn't want to have to clean a larger place.

I just wish that I could have more hard surfaces. If you live on the 2nd or 3rd floor, you're only allowed to have hard surfaces in your kitchen and bathrooms and everything else has to be carpeted.

If I remember right Orem and American Fork are still considerably cheaper than the Salt Lake area... and it really isn't all that far from here either. (I live in Sandy)

It is hard to find a house here with a decent yard! Makes me miss MN where most yards are huge!

You've been to my house before, it's small. Just over 1000 sq ft, 1050 I think. But our lot is 3/4 acre, which is totally big enough for the dogs.

I hope you and Corby can find a nice place with a big yard. Good Luck!

Boy I was way off. Our house is just under 1900 sq ft. And our lot is 11,700 sq ft (.27 acre).

2,685 sq ft. Only the two of us but I think we could use still more space. 4 bedrooms,4 baths, living room, dining room, kitchen,family room, laundry room with mud room . Other level has office, bath, studio, bedroom and family room. We also have a glassed in deck that we use an awful lot and is very handy.

My house is about 2200 sq. feet. I'm not sure how big it is with the yard, but it's decent. We have a big in-ground pool, so that takes up most of it. We have 4 bedrooms 2 1/2 bathrooms. It's good for the 3(my parents and me) of us and Mikey!

Your yard is awesome, I'm jealous of it, your house is great too. Tonya I'm also jealous of your 7.5 acres. I'm not sure what I'd do with it though I don't know enough about horses to have one and I don't see the point of that much land without a horse ha ha, I'd have to get one.

Well they accepted our second offer...its over 11k less than the asking price and the bank will pay closing costs. So it's a decent deal, its a forclosure. Built in 1998, in good shape (at least it appeared to be), 1500 sq ft, 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, 2 car garage, .47 acres. Kind of in a busy area though - not bad, its just near businesses, the neighborhood itself is okay. It's in the price range we wanted but on the higher end. It's in one of the few cities that allows 3 dogs (so now I just have to hide one instead of 2

) Close to both of our jobs and families. Ahh buying a house is scary.

Yeah getting an inspection and we are going to rent out this house. It's in perfect (older and kind of beat up ha ha) rental shape. I will make it pet friendly, depending on meeting the pets.

Twisterdog that definitely sounds bigger than 1100 sq ft with 4 bedrooms. Does it have a family room and a living room?
