Slick, Max knew you would miss him today, so he visited you in bed to give you a headbump and tell you he is allright up there. I also believe he had a paw in to guide you to Merlin.

I'm glad you have lit the candle right next to him - I have one lit for him, too.

Slick i am sure Max is looking down upon you, and i am sure he approves of your new kitty Merlin, he probably thinking yeah not too bad a choice, not as good as me, but he will do.

I can hardly believe that the time has passed,coming up for my Ash's anniversary too, we lost our kitties about a month apart, so know how you are feeling right now.

HUGS and remember he is still with you all the time.
