Gentle hugs for beautiful Samantha.
We know how worrisome lumps can be. Fingers, paws and whiskers crossed that Samantha is better soon.
Ask your vet about microchipping. ~ It could have saved Kuhio's life.
I am glad to hear that Sam is so good with the lampshade
Now off to tell Kiri and Orion to hold their paws crossed for a good i.e. negative outcome!
Sorry Samantha but I had to chuckle - visualizing you with a lampshade...
It's awful when our kitties have something wrong and I sure hope the results are OK.
Hugs Karen (Alec too if that's OK) and purrs to Samantha and Jessica

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Thank you all for your good wishes for Samantha. The vet called today with the biopsy results. The lump that was removed was a tumour, but not malignant. We had been very worried, because Samantha has developed another lump between her shoulder blades, but as the vet pointed out, that is where she would have been injected and she has possibly had a reaction to that.
She goes back soon to have her stiches out, but in the meantime she is being a very good girl and taking her antibiotics without complaint. When we are both with her in the evening we take off the cone so that she can groom herself, and she doesn't complain when it goes back on again overnight. She is being a complete sweetie!![]()
Hello, I just saw this thread. I'm sorry Samantha had to have surgery but at least now you know it is not malignant which is great. It sure sounds as if she is a very good patient (better than my Luke would be) to put up with the cone without complaining. My best to all of you. Kay in NC USA, Thur Jan 13

Sweet Samantha, we are all so glad that all went well and the news from the vet are good.
Tell your daddy that many people have had benign tumours removed and are not the worse for wear
But you may use the mood he's in to get you more treats.
