You know, that luckless bunch who have their number picked out of a barrel, are sent to war started by a bunch of jerks who retire on big fat pensions.

We never called them the National Servicemen that I know of or did you mean National Guard?

Once you're in the service, you're in.

No not National Guard.......draftees, you know. We call them National Servicemen. The point I was trying to make to Gretchen, is that draftees are not volunteers.

Oh, John, the volunteers of today have this happen to them. They just don't have their names/numbers picked from a barrel.

I don't know if Rush really said that and I don't really care. IF he did, his heart is in the right place I guess.

I always felt that if you serve for the money, pension or anything other than wanting to SERVE, you are doing it for the wrong reason. Further, I hope that our militay stays forever an all volunteer force. Enough of this "the rich people never send their sons..." crap. When things get tough, I don't want some spoiled kid next to me. I want a person who can suck it up and FIDO.

Should we take care of our vets? Sure. Does it make me mad to see what our politicians do? Of course. But the vast majority of those who serve are infinitely better people than your average politican. Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and even Marines ( LOL) just get it and won't let what the politicians do get the best of them. They just continue to SERVE. Hoo-ah!
