Well, I'm not Puck, and I wouldn't listen to Rush if you paid me.

I think the main reason for the discrepancies - the military is comprised of volunteers. And once they volunteer, they are at the mercy of the Government. They go where, and when, they are told.

The 9/11 victims did not volunteer to be in the WTC, or those airplanes, on that date.

Personally, I would love to see more members of Congress serving in the military - and more of those from talk radio and talk TV - and I mean all of them, from all sides of the spectrum.

One who is drafted into the Army.
You know, that luckless bunch who have their number picked out of a barrel, are sent to war started by a bunch of jerks who retire on big fat pensions.

We never called them the National Servicemen that I know of or did you mean National Guard?

Once you're in the service, you're in.

No not National Guard.......draftees, you know. We call them National Servicemen. The point I was trying to make to Gretchen, is that draftees are not volunteers.

Oh, John, the volunteers of today have this happen to them. They just don't have their names/numbers picked from a barrel.
