Fun update!
Daddy's been under sedation since this saga began; they were worried about bringing him out (they had to restrain him previously) and getting the ventilator tube out. Well, no more worries...
They brought him out gradually while still ventilated; in the process, he quickly reached up and ripped out the ventilator tube. He's baaack!
My sister actually had a conversation with him for the first time this afternoon, but the hospital has him restrained. She had to make him promise he wouldn't rip anything else out so she could have them release his arm to hold his hand. The oxygen is the next potential victim.

GO RAVENS!!
Well, well, well! Just out of serious surgery and he has to be told to BEHAVE.Great news!
He probably wants to get the heck out of there, but they likely want to monitor him a bit longer...patience, Dad, patience.
I wonder if he notices he is breathing better? I hope he is.
And your brother - sounds like a nasty infection. Still, I hope he will be able to keep most of his stomach. Prayers going out for him.![]()

I thought I had kind of overwhelmed you all, so I held off for a bit, but there is big news!
As of 10pm this evening, Daddy will be moved to a REGULAR ROOM! He'll be out of ICU!!He was changed from no food to pureed mush late yesterday. My sister said his eyes went from slits to mostly open, he sat up in the big recliner and read a newspaper.
A few days in a regular room, a few in a rehab center and we'll be home free!
Thank you so much for the prayers and thoughts everyone!![]()
GO RAVENS!!
I actually spoke to my father! He's still really groggy, but remarkably lucid for what he's been through. I'm ecstatic about his progress. Today we're on to the rehab center!
GO RAVENS!!
