    In recovery!

They took Daddy in to surgery early (2:15), my sister just called me, he's in recovery!! The thyroid was so large it was pushed very far into the chest cavity; it, and the corresponding growths, is gone. The trachea, at this point, is still intact. He'll be in recovery for a few hours, on the ventilator until tomorrow, and then we'll reevaluate.

Thank you all for your prayers!

By the way, Candace, I know Phred helped out - how could he not? MY FATHER'S NAME IS FRED!!

OMIGOSH! I thought the surgery would be a lot longer...but thank God and Phred he made it!

I think he will be able to breathe much more easily - and getting more Oxi-Jen into his system is bound to help him perk up.

    More prayers for continued recovery.

Yes, Daddy is a VERY strong man, he's always seemed like an unmovable force to me...a very commanding presence (which came in handy, I imagine as a Lt. Commander and Air Craft Carrier Commander in the Navy ).

Latest on my brother: his white cell count is responding, but there is a dead section of his stomach that will have to be removed.

Thank you for your prayers everyone! We're getting there, one step at a time!
