Thanks so much for posting this, Staci. Watched it thru many tears, it was heartbreaking to see some of those pics. There are some very touching images, too. I think I counted 7 different townships represented in the Firetruck parade - I'll bet Phred enjoyed watching that from a front-row seat in the clouds, but wondered what all the hubbub over him was about.

Rest easy, dear Phred, you did good here, and we know you are doing good where you are now, too. Pet our pups for us, we miss you.

Thank you for the video Diana and for braving the cold to take it. Thanks also to you Staci for posting the PhotoShow link. Both of which touched the heart with the respect and honour shown to our dear Phred, most especially the fire truck parade.

One small thing about the PhotoShow puzzled me however, as to why the accompanying music chosen was 'Land of Hope and Glory' an essentially British patriotic song.

It may be British in origin, but it is played in the USA at many high school graduations - or at least it once was.

Had a dream last night, even though I never met Phred or his dogs, Cinder and Smoke, his dogs were in my house, hanging out on the couch. He must've sent his dogs to check on me.
You're the one sure thing I've found so you better stick around...

    Aww, what a nice thought.

Thanks Staci for posting the photos. It looked like a beautiful service
for Phred. It's nice to know he was afforded the respect & admiration of
so many people. The pet pictures on the casket gave me LES.

I think Phred would have approved of everything.

Wow, that was really hard to watch. That was sweet to have photos of his pups with him. It looks like he was given the honor that he deserved, he would have loved the fact that all the firetrucks came. I hope he knows that if everyone who wanted to be there could have came every seat would have been filled.

wow. just wow. I really choked up at pics of him, and loved the pics of him and Cinder and Smokey in the casket.

There were two firefighters standing guard...a man with a light ginger beard who always seemed quite sad in the photos. I have to wonder if Phred was a loving and tough mentor to him, or even just was like a dad to him on occasion. The other one was a bit older, with a large dark moustache and eyes the same - he looked like he was remembering many things.

And that young woman - I paused on her picture. I agree she did seem very emotional.

Phred was so special to so very many people. I hope he knew how very loved he was, especially with all the cards that came in.

I do hope there is life after death and that Phred was able to see everything. Staci, I think I saw you in one photo.

Those fire engines - all of them - cleaned and polished, every square inch. wow.

Thank you so much for posting this.

I am not sure of the first fellow you described but I have to say I was touched by how many of these firefighters were in tears during many parts of the funeral. It was obvious that he touched each one in a special way. I am pretty sure Staci can say whether I are right about this or not but the fellow with the mustache was one of Phred's good friends. He drove to Marysville - I think every day for his job and he spent a lot of that time on the phone to Phred to keep awake. I am pretty sure that Joan told me that he spent a lot of time on the weekends sitting by Phred's side. I'm kinda of thinking that he was Heidi's dad at least before the divorce.

I think that each of those firefighters could have told us a personal story about how Phred had touched them or helped them. It was amazing to see and for that I will always be grateful that I went to the funeral.

yup - you are right - the man with the dark moustache is Brian and he drove to Marysville every week to work then drives the 4+ hour drive back to Youngstown/Berlin Center. A lot of times when I called Phred - he would say - can I call you back - I'm talking to Brian. AND he was Heidi's dad pre-divorce. It was really tough on all of them. I agree Diana - I wish some of them would have told us Phred Stories.

I got an email from the Photographer and she took a dvd to the fire dept - she couldn't figure out how to get the video online. I am going to call there in a day or 2 and see if they will burn me a copy and send it to me - I think I might be able to find someone around here to d/l it to email. I would really like to have it for the Memorial Service at the Findlay park.

Did anyone pay attention to the FT that came from POLAND?

    LOL,

Only Phred could get a fire truck from Europe included in the parade.

    Beautiful!

This should be no surprise Richard. Phred was, after all, the ultimate renaissance man and had a worldwide influence. I would expect nothing less

The slide presentation had me choking up - a beautiful tribute to a beautiful person. Phred must have been watching from his recliner up on the Bridge and introducing all his buddies to Jonza - oh the stories ... to be a fly on the wall!!

Phred - we sure are missing you
    Yours in Whiskers
