    Phred Has Passed

Phred's neighbor and friend just called to tell me that Phred has passed. He died enroute to the Hospice Center. His sister lives in Maine and she will be the one making the decisions about the funeral. He wanted to be cremated and have some of the ashes brought up to the Findlay Dog Park. The friend that Phred's sister Nancy lives with is scheduled for surgery tomorrow so Joan is not sure what or when any service might be scheduled for. Several of my friends have had their family members buried and then several weeks or even months later had memorial services. I suggested this to Joan and she is going to pass it on to Nancy - with Christmas coming so quickly I am wondering if this wouldn't be best. I don't know - it is so unreal that it is hard to think what is best right now.

As information is passed on to me, I will pass it on to you.

I just can't believe our dear friend is gone.
Phred, now that you are being reunited with Boots and Bowser and all our Pet Talk babies, I hope you know how very much you mean to all of us left here on the ole dirt ball. Pet Talk will never be the same.
No matter what anyone does, someone some where will be offended some how!!!!

Oh no. Phred, I know you had a wonderful reunion waiting for you at Rainbow Bridge! Did you see God come to meet you on a Silver Cloud?

The ole Dirt Ball is going to miss you, dear one.

I'm not sure there was a more compassionate and selfless person on this board. Please give Sara and Sophie and Bowser a kiss for me. We miss you deeply, buddy.

Like Sandra, I was just thinking of how Phred took the lead and helped us to help Jonny Walker. And the pup prayer he sent out is what I'm sure, helped Bean find his way home last Spring. RIP Phred...you were a great, kind, funny man.

I can only imagine Phred wouldbe saying the same thing to all of us. Don't be too sad...He is in a better place. Lungs, kidneys, heart feeling a lot better, feeling young again with his ma and pa and Bowser and Boots, Snoopy and Sherman, Binx, and Smokey and the other "kids" he shared his life with at home or through Pet Talk. Guess God need some more help this Christmas.

So sad indeed. May it be a comfort to know he is pain free and with our Lord.

There may not be tears in heaven, but there certainly are here on Earth tonight. Thank you for being you, Phred. You were a gift to countless lives. The world feels emptier tonight with the loss of your voice among us.

There are no words right now. He was so very special to all of us here - at times the glue that held us together.

Rest now, John. Peace be with you.

No one could say anything in these instances better than Phred, but I think that God is gettin lots of messages about takin "gud" care of our dear friend from this ole dirt ball. May he find peace, love and joy at the bridge.
