ps. Bonny, sorry about the cow. Was she ill, or was it a accident?

The veterinary said Big Mama (the cows name) had a broken spine. She could of fallen off the trail & injured herself, the pasture is flat land along a creek with a sharp trail to the hills on top. She had twin calfs which we rounded up & bought home. It is a bummer Big Mama was a good mother & we will miss her.

Oh, that's so sad. I am so sorry and hope she didn't suffer long.

Aww, our sympathies. How old are the calves? Will they have to be bottle fed? You should do a memorial post for her over in Pet Memorial.

Karen, The twins are four months old & are wild & would put up a real fight if we tried to bottle feed them. They are receiving hay & a special calf feed. There is fresh water for them to drink in the water tank. They are settling in & called for Big Mama some today when the other cows came up for water. They think she is in with the herd here at home. We have them close to our house & keep an eye on them to make sure they are eating. Thanks for your concern.
