I know... I understand they did and am grateful they did. I just see a total like that and think OMG. Could you even spend that amount in your lifetime? lol

I mean don't get me wrong I do NOT believe people should be forced to give a certain amount based on income... but really? $250,000? to me that is just wrong and then to perform on a fundraiser episode for haiti asking for money from people who can barely pay their own bills.

ACK. I just can't help but think how much could be done to help those people if those who have more money than they could spend would open their pocketbooks. but again... should not be FORCED to. Just wish people were more giving when they have been blessed beyond belief with the ability to do so.

As they were one of the first to donate, I think letting it be known publicly was done to inspire/pressure other celebrities to do the same.

The usual Madonna statement at her recording studio to her session musicians is "Time is money, and the money is mine". Pretty well explains why she spends more money on a diamond studded collar for her dog than on a donation to Haiti.
