Just replied to your post in Cat Behaviour.

An idea - see if the vet who does the free checkup will take payments if s/he wants to see Milkman for a more in-depth exam. Also, Google Care Credit - they do have a plan for animals, and last time I checked, the loan was interest-free if you paid it back in 3 months or less.

I have an 8 month old CH kitten and as he has gotten older his muscles have developed more and it is easier for him to get around now. (He even terrifies me by trying to climb up and down the stairs ) So if it is CH, there is no reason that Milkman won't live a happy and healthy life.
