Thanks, everyone. Sorry I haven't updated (freaking out-another eye surgery on Dec 16).

Ms Logan seems better. I kept tabs of her water intake and it was about 12-13 cups a day. For the last 2 days, she seems more normal. She's still fiesty, eats well. I cut out the morning breakfast of too many treats. She gets 1. She hasn't woke me up in the middle of the night for 2 nights, nor has she guzzled water as much. Whew!

If she had continued to worry me, I would have definitely called the owner or the other 2 vets I use constantly. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Yes, Sandie, a dog her age, weight, should drink no more than 12 cups a day.

    I love these PT prayers!

I'm so glad to hear that she's acting much more normal now. I hope that she'll continue to do well. Now you need to focus on your own health and get better.

Glad to hear she is doing better. That is one less thing for you to worry about.

Perhaps, maybe, all those extra treats were the culprit, who knows. As long as she is settling in to her normal self, that is what matters.

Best wishes for your eye surgery today!

A person wonders if the treats maybe didn't have a bunch of salt in them to make your dog thirsty? I am so glad to read things are better. Best wishes on your surgery & good thougts & prayers sent your way too.

    Carole,

I'm so sorry about your Logan. He's a beautiful dog. When I had to make the ultimate decision with Mollie Rose, I begged the vet to help her live. Unfortunately, she was in the advanced stages of kidney disease. I do hope Logan gets better. I'm going to light a candle for him and also he will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Rest In Peace Casey (Bubba Dude) Your paw print will remain on my heart forever. 12/02

Take a look at the LABEL on the treat package ...
    Read what's actually IN them.

And take the package with you for Show & Tell at the Vet -
ask him/her what they think of the contents.

There are a LOT of "special purpose" treats made with great attention put
to what's IN them and that they "do no harm" to the pet and
may even be a proper source of nourishment.

Prayers that YOU start to feel better!!

I'm glad Logan is acting normal and continues to do so.
You know your dog better than anyone.
Sometimes illness just don't shop up on basic tests.
Fingers crossed that Logan continues to act herself.

Took Logan back to the vet on Thursday, because she developed huge, unsightly pimples on the outside of her nostrils.

I always wipe her face after she digs in the yard, but i guess I didn't do a great job because it was a bacterial infection. Antibiotics and cream. Looking better.

However, she's still drinking like a fish and peeing it out. She gained another pound. It has to be water because I cut her food down by 1/4 cup and she seems satisfied.

I stopped her water at midnight on Friday and took a fresh sample 1st thing this morning. She never woke me up. Vet closed at noon and I was stuck in the storm with John and a dead battery (thanks sweetie for forgetting to shut off my lights) so I have to redo her sample Monday night.

Of course I don't want anything serious, but I want a solution. Logan is so stoic, no complaints or whines. Still loveable and happy and sweet. My poor shedding pumpkin.
