Thank you for your comments everyone! Well, I still need a lot of practice with the new camera, though. It may not show up in the pictures, but in their original size, you can see that there's a shallow depth of field. Need to learn to improve that.

And speaking of angles: I'm never sure about those, have the feeling that I need to improve my skills there, too. Guess I'm going to take some lessons in dslr photography next spring.

Is that a gravestone in picture 3?

No, not a gravestone, but a boundary stone. It's marking the Hessian/Lower Saxonian border (two German federal states).

Yes, they are. In Hann. Muenden, Lower Saxony, which is right in the middle of Germany.

Yes, we have some beautiful areas here, and you'll have everything from sea shores to mountains. Here, where I'm living, we're having lots of forests, and rivers. And very old houses, like these:
