Anyone here from North Dakota?

Thanks! I'm used to the wind. It's very windy here, and very cold. I hate it, but I'm used to it.

It's also very brown and dusty here, with no trees or water. It is high plains desert here. My husband is up there and said it was way greener and wetter there than here, so that's good.

It seems typically mid-western to me, albeit colder. I lived in Indiana for for years, and traveled around Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Minnesota, Iowa, Michigan quite a bit. It was ok, and I'm expecting ND to be rather like that.

I'm looking forward to living hear a bigger town, where I live now is about 20,000 people. I think I'll get a job at the zoo ... that would a hoot, to be a zookeeper!

I have only been to two zoos before, the one in the twin cities, and the one in Minot. The one in Minot is not as big as I would like for a zoo, but its ok. I think you will like it. And if you need advice on what vet to go to up there I would go to West Oaks Animal Hospital. The clinic is run by a wife and husband team. I always went to the wife, Amy. Shes really nice. Shes very polite and helpful and really cares about the animals. And if ts an after hour call shes very good bout those too. God knows I have had plenty with Heidi (shes very accident prone). I dont know if you kennel or anything, but I've heard that Sterling Kennels arent the greatest. THere are two other kennels there also, Best Pet Kennels and Ambush. I used to take Heidi to the Ambush one, but I quit after I realized she gets really anxious and stressed out in a kennel situation. And she always came back with no voice cause she barked too much. When are you moving there?

Wow!! What a change for you. Exciting and scary.
When you move you will be 11 hours away. But.... you are actually only 3 hours away from where we went for a vacation this year... and might go next year as well.

I know! I am going to try to get up there either this week or next, and find a house. It is crazy stuff!

Seriously, still eleven hours away?? Dang, Canada is big! LOL. I was thinking it would be like five hours away. Still, though, we could meet in the middle on a weekend!
