    yeah you would think so wouldn't you? at the very least they should have been concerned with the backpack, given his record but even if he hadn't escaped once before.

    ok even if he deserved (IF) the 2nd chance, they should have been more alert in watching him. he is a murderer after all.

    He can't be too insane if he planned how to escape.

    Perhaps the state needs to rethink his insanity and lock him up in a max security prison - solitary confinement 23 hrs per day - 1 hour for a shower and exercise.

    He's a paranoid-schizophrenic. When he takes his meds, he appears to be "normal." And he was taking his meds when he planned the escape. Once he's off them for 48-72 hours - then the crazy comes through. That's when he is dangerous.

    yeah but you are not a murderer in an insane asylum? lots of people, ordinary people carry backpacks.
