I've never watched the show, either. In fact, I didn't even know they had a show. I think those are very valid questions indeed!
I saw part of an interview with them on some talk show once. By what I gathered, an older child is assigned to a younger child. I got the impression that the older one pretty much raises the younger one for eighteen years. Not exactly fair, IMO, to make little parents out of children.
