What a very long, sad, and stressful day for the entire family, but as always, they have handled it with grace and dignity.
Sad to say, they have had to do this way too many times.

Very true Ellie. I have watched, along with the rest of the country, as we have now said goodbye to John, Robert and now Teddy. I thought today's events were beautiful and, as you said, handled with grace and dignity.

We watched the whole thing today, it reminded me so much of when I spent the day glued to the t/v after John and Bobby's passings so many years ago. So much tragedy for one family.

It's way too bad that some of the history and folklore of the Kennedy's, the government and the Arlington Cemetery only gets told on days like today.

Is it me or was it a nice touch that the lightning in the background was a little punctuation to the ceremony?

Also, I think it was just that the ceremony ended in darkness. No TV shots of the family leaving, let them have a moment.

You saw the lightning too? A nice touch from the heavens.

I read a nice letter from HSUS on his passing.

Thanks for sharing that link, lizbud.

I felt so badly for Patrick. He has no wife, nor children. He sat in the hearse, with his father - keeping watch.

I thought Ted Jr's thoughts at the funeral were wonderful.

I laughed with Orrin Hatch last night at the Wake, and wasn't John Culver simply hysterical, talking about his sailing adventures with Ted.

We watched most of the traditional Irish wake on Friday evening. Really great. John Culver had a great story to begin with, and oh boy can he ever tell a story! I was in stitches!

Had the TV on all day Saturday, watched the church service, the Capitol ceremony and the cemetery bit. Then continueed witht he documentary, Teddy, In His Own Words.

    Ted Jr.'s talk was amazing!

I watched that too and found it to be very interesting. There was a lot of footage that I had never seen before. It seems MSNBC kept showing the same documentaries over and over, and it was good to see something new.
