Yes, DiCaprio was so good that when my son saw the movie when it first came out, he didn't know who DiCaprio was and thought they had actually cast a retarded boy to play the part.Leonardo was nominated but did not win the Oscar. In fact in spite of being nominated for three films in all he has yet to win the Academy Award - just like Johnny.
