Another top 5 for Tony! And how impressive Joey, coming from dead last, battling it out with JPM, and finishing 12th!
Too bad Denny and Kyle had such a rotten day finishing 34th and 38th, Mark was a very unhappy man.

I have to say, watching it in person is much more fun than watching it on TV. The cars just go by too fast to see any more than a blur...200 mph, no wonder they're just a blur

Yep, we were there (we really missed you Amy), had a blast and wow what a gorgeous day it was! We did lots and lots of walking. If you ever go, don't wait to pick up your tickets there and by all means....get a parking pass!!!

As usual I took WAY too many pictures, but if you'd like to see them here's the link:

And I'll upload a few here.

I ordered the best weather possible just for you guys.

I don't know much about NASCAR, so can anyone explain why Montoya
was cited for speed out of the pit lane? I thought you would want to
hurry back to the race quickly.

There is a speed limit on pit road. This helps to insure the safety of the pit crew members that will be vulnerable while working on the cars during pit stops. The pit road speed is given and the drivers are given a 5 mph grace period. So if the speed limit is 55 MPH, they are allowed to go 60 MPH without incurring a penalty. If they go even .01 over 60 MPH, they are given a penalty, where they have to pass back down the length of pit road at the while maintaining the proper speed. NASCAR now electronically scores eac car's pit road speed by using timing and scoring areas. They judge a car's speed between each of those areas. JPM was scored going over the 5 MPH grace speed in two of those areas.

    When it rains?

Time to pull out the red flag, pack up the car and go home.

Great race tonight, well except for Kyle's wreck (he did a very good interview for being so upset)

I am so tired of hearing Mark talk about how scared he was during qualifying. Really? I think you loose the right to be scared when you are doing it every week for 100 years!!!

    Great race. Congrats David!!!

    Holy Crap,
Just tuned into the qual runs for the Indy Car race in Sonoma. Will Power hit car that had spun out on a blind corner.
Tossing a prayer out to both drivers!

That's not it at all. I am SO tired of listening to him. I turned the radio off today during his pre-race interview. I mute the TV when he is on. He drives me crazy. Like was previously mentioned by someone else, I can't stand his post qualifying interviews lately either. I think he is full of baloney (and maybe bologna too.) He just rubs me the wrong way. I've listened to his scanner. He wants everyone to pull over for him because he is trying to get in the chase. He had his "farewell tour" years ago. I'm just ready for him to be gone. I even like Junior better than him, and believe me, that's saying a lot! But I know that is the beauty of NASCAR, there are drivers we love and drivers we love to hate and drivers we just hate. He happens to fall into that last category in my house. I'm glad there are others that like him though.

I am joking when I say this....

Any athlete who loses a loved on in the week before an event should not be allowed to participate in their event/sport.

How many times have you heard of someone losing a family member the week before the event, then winning?

When I heard that DH lost his grandma on the telecast I thought, "There is this week's winner!"

Thoughts and prayers to his family and a huge congrats to him, too!

I barely had time to watch any Nascar coverage this weekend and did not know about Denny's grandma until after the race. I still had a feeling it was his week...wore my Denny Gear saturday and Sunday. I was out for today and had to go with Tony, but was still rooting Denny on. Way to go #11!

Tony had a bad day, but still got a top 10 out of it. Just frustrating that Jimmie had a bad day going too, and still got a top #15. Just once, can't they have a really bad day?
