    I want ice cream!

We went on a Photo Safari within the San Diego Wild Animal Park once, and it was great. Rhinoceros, by the way, are real messy eaters, but we got to hand feed them chunks of apple. I did, anyway, Paul wanted to avoid the major slime factor!

Was this before the hand sanitizer era?

Now, you have to tell me WHAT kind of ice "scream" you want.

I haven't seen Chai flavored, yet...

Let me start you out with a french vanilla to prep your palate?

    DONE!

    --------------

I had a wonderful walnut ice cream the other day.

Here in CA we have guys that have the half bicycle/half ice cream cooler rig they ride around on.
They sell the best fruit bar/popsicles on the planet.

I stop the guy and buy 3-4 at a time......I wish I could send one out to everyone!

Any ice cream would be fine. This is Thursdays, where all food has no calories, and no allergens .... so how about a good New England tradition:

    Maple walnut ice cream
Warmed maple syrup poured over it
    Walnut pieces sprinkled on top

    Anybody else want one?

Have you ever heard of BLT bites? They're addicting-had them at a participatory dinner recently-I'll have to post the recipe when I pull it out of my email...they're cherry tomatoes hollowed out with some combination of bacon, mayo, parmesan, and parsley I think. Real simple, and so POPPABLE for hors d'eouvres!

Anyway, barkeep, set 'em up again!

Hey I was watching Andrew Zimmerman the other day.. He was overseas somewhere & this other chef showed him how to make Bacon Ice Cream.. You grill bacon with lots of brown sugar on top.. Then crubble it up into the homemade ice-cream.. They said it was very good..

Saw that on the news last night. Reminded me of my visit earlier this year to Safari West - SO much fun! They didn't have monkeys or baboons, tho - lots of Zebra (who were a lot of fun), Giraffe, all sorts of exotic birds, deer and elk who were just amazing to see up close and personal AND an ostrich - Henry the Ostrich was hilarious and wouldn't let us out of the compound. I missed the Lemurs because it was way too hot for them that day and the Cheetahs were just chilling in the shade. I NEED to go back! They're on FAcebook now and I've been getting updates with pics of all the newborn animals. Such a phun place!

Today is National Vanilla Ice Cream Day so I'll have a scoop of that and one of those banana thingies
