I guess its a case of "I will see no opinions other then mine, hear no opinions other then mine, speak of no opinions other then mine, and I will shut my eyes, cover my ears and shout down anybody who tries to offer opinions I disagree with". Or maybe when they are offered an olive branch they simply see a sword.

In a few hours the new health care packages will be presented.

How stupid are we to let a bunch of morons push this legislation by us without letting us decide what we need.

I want the same coverage that Baba, Nancy and Dianne have. Eff this! The more I see the 'sweeping changes' and 'reform' in the HCS that BO wants to impose upon us, I really have to laugh.

Instead of trying to reel in the costs and looking at the system, one part at a time, the gov't. (current regime) wants to build a fence around the whole problem, then send flunkies inside to do battle with the evil trapped inside.
There is absolutely no fore thought, planning or desire to really fix the system.

If you think it's bad now?

    "rhetorical flourish"?

Say what you mean, mean what you say?

I was watching RED EYE last night and they were talking about the opening round of la senorita's interview. They were right, It is a suckfest. For the sake of being PC, I will leave out the best question of last night's program.

I again apologize to the rest of the country for Dianne Feinstein's appointment to the Senate. She has got to be one of he most annoying politicians on the planet.

    -----------------------------

Pat Leahy is fumbling around on CNN about the "wise latina" comment.

I think that sotomayor misspoke- she meant to say, "Homie, This homegirl came from the hood and yo whiteboys just ain't got the 'sperience this OG gots from growing up in the NYC.

    ---------------------------------------

    OH,

I have to say this right now.

I have this underlying dislike of our 'shoo-in' appointee-Not because of her not having bits or her latina-ness or her having more experience for the job.

I CANNOT STAND "professional" people who are inept when it comes to public speaking.

In years gone by, a politician would get to a mike and was able to muddle through a speech or make a comment that was almost perfect.

These days I am effing amazed that a person, born and raised in America, gets to a premier school, gets a law degree, becomes a judge and possibly the next SCJ for the United States and still cannot use English properly.

This is a peeve of mine that shows how petty I am. My dad had a thick accent, never really got the hang of the language -It smell like hell in here!-
But he made pretty damn sure that his kids were schooled and were able to speak the King's English properly.

    ----------------------

To hear a person, who has more education that I'll ever see, hack and mangle sentences makes me shake my head and wonder.

I gots the idea that there be a problem with some thing that don't make so much sense when you hear it the first time.

The more I see and hear people that went to a uni/college, get wonderful jobs, yet, cannot seem to speak english properly, lets me know that no one took the time to correct them. It makes me cringe, not because I am any better or smarter. It just irritates me that we look the other way when we hear it.

Wisdom, brains, common sense should never be measured against the way a person speaks, but I wonder how a smart person could never realize how they sound when they speak.

Oh, Richard, you opened up the door wide with this one, and I can't resist the obvious. How did you manage to survive the past 8 years of Presidential speaking

This reminds me of what happened at the grocery story last week. A man came up to me at the meat counter and asked if the store sells lamb. I said "Sure, here it is" and I pointed to it. He thanked me and I said "You're welcome", we smiled at each other and both of us tried to leave but kept getting in each other's way. He finally said "I'm sorry. You're not in my way, is it?" It made me chuckle and he chuckled, too, because he knew that he probably didn't say it right. We all fumble for words now and then and probably use a word inappropriately but I get your meaning, RICHARD. Some people just cannot express themselves and public speaking is the last thing that they should be doing.
    Blessings,
    Mary

I have to invoke the spirit of Billy Mayes, for reasons that will be made clear in a moment?

I want my politicians to be more like Billy Mayes, Why?

He makes me feel like the stuff he sold was important in my life.

He told me that it worked, never mentioned the down side of the product-Hmmm, Notice he never mentioned TAXES, just shipping and handling!

He'd give me two of the items, I just had to pay a little extra for S&H!

He guaranteed it for life, If I didn't like the item I could send it back, and I had lifetime refills - for only a small, you guessed it!- S&H!

But never TAXES. The dude put his name on some cool stuff and other crap that was nothing but pieces of shiat!

    -------------------------------

The only thing that the these hearings are doing is offering us more crap from our reps that they put their name on and little else......

No guarantees, no refills, opportunity to send stuff back, or get a refund.

Caveat emptor (Thanks, STE! ) And a Boom Shaka Lakka to you all!

Poor Billy put his name on 'his' products because if they didn't sell, he didn't make money.

The snakes on the "hill" just sell stuff and really don't care about any guarantees regarding their products.....They will keep their cushy jobs, until they get caught stalking, going overseas for some action or find out that the escort they hired is really a hooker!

God bless us and America too. We place way too much attention to the "First fill in the skin type/background in America" and do not place enough attention on the qualifications of that individual.

We'll break all the land speed records to get where we think we need to go.

If we crash and burn on the track?

You guys go clean up the mess, I was all against THAT can o' worms.

    God bless ya, Billy!

GWB was a doofus and he knew it.

BO is a doofus and he doesn't know it.

WTF cares about how anyone pronounces New Cleh ear? The end result is mass destruction and -like the old bumper sticker said - a ruined day.

BO cannot think on his feet but is very eloquent, with notes and a teleprompter.

    -----------------------------
    Seriously,

Then next time BO does a speech and starts to stammer his way thru the copy, play a drinking game while you watch.

Drink for every Um, Ah and Uh.

I can handle booze, but was in danger of losing my liver in the 15 minutes+
that I played, plus I got way more effed up than I planned.

GWB and his speeches were more a throwback to Yogi Berra, fat ladies singing and getting to the fork in the road and taking it and doing that deja vu thing, over and over again.

My peeve with La Mujer del Momento, is her fracturing the english language with the wealth of education she has.

GWB was a bobo that flew airplanes for a while, you just have to learn to land and take off. Most of the time what happens in between is out of a pilot's hands.

As the joke goes, You have to worry when the pilot flying the plane says, "Oh Shiat!"

Other than that? Who cares what he says!

Are you serious??? I don't see how you can believe that. Give me a
direct quote or other example of SS "fracturing" the English language.
    (I'm serious)

I think she speaks "Lawyer" fluently. and after all, she is being questioned
    on matters of law?
