This is related to hockey - and also to WWII. From the NY Times -

The Red Wings’ P.A. announcer, Budd Lynch, was given a standing ovation on the 65th anniversary of the D-Day landings. Lynch, 91, served in the Essex Scottish Regiment of the Canadian Forces in Normandy and lost his right arm during combat a few weeks after the invasion. Five years later, he joined the Red Wings as play-by-play announcer and has been with the organization ever since.

    Wow!!!!!
I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
    Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.

Ugh, I don't even want to talk about that game. The young guys got frustrated and lost it. They took WAY too many stupid penalities. They are going to have to pull it together for tomorrow night's game. They are the comeback kids, and they will be playing with their backs against the wall, so I do think that it will be a much better game. GO PENS!

Well it better not be a repeating score! I seriously doubt it will be, if the Pens do lose game 6 it won't be like that. I hope that they would at least go out with dignity. Not thinking about that yet though, just hoping that they force a game 7.

I think part of the Pens problem the other night is that they were overconfident going into the game, had some great chances in the first 10 minutes, then detroit scored and they got frustrated. They just didn't recover.

Dignity is not a word associated with the Penguins right now. Even Ron Cook of the Pittsburgh-Post Gazette compared them to a goon squad.
