Where is he?
Where is he?
.
This is an incredible story. I've edited their email because it's quite long but their story is in the following info:
The couple are long haul truck drivers from Southeast Texas who are also Texas Animal Control Officers, and they are also a permanent home for special needs cats. They have adapted their truck to accommodate the cats. They have several who for various reasons do not travel with them and for those cats, they have a network of people who care for them in their home in their absence. For those who do travel with them, because they are a trucking team, one of them is generally awake while the other one of them medicates, plays with the cats and sleeps, and thus, these kitties have pretty much 24/7 monitoring. They have a pet sitter team they utilize both for those who do not travel with them and for their entire bunch when they vacation without them or do post disaster animal rescue.
They attended a seminar a while back at which an esteemed Doctor of Veterinary Medicine stated that FeLV and FIV cats NO LONGER need to be separated from the general populace as long as all of the cats are not fractious or tend to fight. There are also dietary supplements that can be given to minimize the risk of secondary infection, which claims the lives of most FeLV and FIV cats. They are willing to give these to Narley to boost his immune system. They take their responsibility to those in their care very seriously, as you can tell. They consider all their cats to be family members.
Narley will certainly not lack for love and affection or medical attention, regardless of where they are in the nation. They have developed a network of vets across the country through the years, and they don't hesitate to take any of their cats in to these vets (or call them for referrals should they be somewhere their vets aren't) if the need arises.
Their cats greeted Narley and began to groom him immediately. He hissed once and then was ok after that and now all is well. Can you in your wildest dreams imagine a happier ending for Narley or for any cat? What an amazing story and an even more amazing couple. (I've withheld their names.)

I added a couple more pix. I'm just so thrilled w/this outcome. Ferals don't stand much of a chance of adoption, especially when they're FIV or FelV positive but this renewed my faith in humankind.
