There's no doubt that they do it on purpose, and it's SO ANNOYING!!! However, I have no clue what they're showing these days. I turn down the sound, go to the bathroom and/or kitchen - actually John and I timed it years ago, and we found that there was just enough time to make a fresh pot of tea and go for a pee.
