Kuhio, that's brave of your friend to fess up. There were a few professors where I went to college that were in the Nazi party for much the same reasons; laying low to help their families. Unfortunately, this is the case for many people living under a horrible government. It takes a special kind of courage to either fight in the resistance or leave; I honestly do not know what I would do. (Disclaimer: I didn't take the test because I'm a big chicken.)
