Can you start your own non-profit, private adoption group? Or can you work in conjunction with one? Like, start your own chapter? That is very sad; I had a hard time making it through the entire roll of pictures

I would like to work with another rescue...I've talked to a couple rescues around me. Asking if they could put up courtesy posts on petfinder. I got one rescue in Evansville to do it back when I had Trudy a couple years ago. I've not had any success since hardly any of the dogs I get in town are purebred. Everyone only wants to help purebred dogs. I haven't tried in a while...I may ask a few again.

Yeah, if most of the dogs you have in the area are purebred, I think the process of becoming a chapter organization would be simplified. For example, I know Greyhound adoption groups tend to have national heads and subsequent regional chapters. Hmm...that's tough. Could you talk to the director of the local no-kill and ask if you can become a branch with them? I know our local, private SPCA has a branch in the next county over, and they share the same website and stuff. I have no idea; good luck! I never knew it was so bad over there

The no-kill shelter in the next town is not very cooperative. The woman that runs it is a know it all. She is a real pain to work with. I've volunteered there before and I could do nothing right. I've volunteered at enough shelters, worked at a vet clinic and show dogs...I think I know how to clean a kennel run...Nope...She'd go over each one with white glove...finding everything wrong with it...I offered to bring in a bunch of food I had...Nope. Wrong kind of food. I offered to be a foster home. I was denied because I didn't own my home and didn't have a fenced yard. I'm tellin ya this lady is nuts. She's such a stickler on who the dogs go to she's had the same dogs for adoption since 2001 when the facility opened...It's pathetic.

I think tomorrow I'll get in contact with some rescues in Evansville. Which is about 45 mins from me. There are quite a few rescues there...Hopefully one of them can give me a helping hand. Good idea.
