I heard that Santa has the elves working overtime. He has had a last minute glut of letters and everyone is asking for electric blankets. Toys aren't the problem - he has plenty of those.

Mmmm, a nice large mug of coffee filled with some Bailey's would be a great way to start the day! (please)

It’s getting rather chilli here too, so I just had to bite the dust and change my short sleeves to long. But then, it’s after 6 PM!

For you who are getting cold, I think a good traditional hot Christmas Glögg will go down well! Anyone wants to share?

    Christmas Glögg

    Ingredients:
    1 bottle of redwine
    1⁄2 liter Glögg extract
    1 stick of cinnamom
    5 cloves
2 handfuls of chopped almonds and sultana’s
    2 dl port

Heat the wine with the extract, cinnamom and cloves. Don’t let it boil!
Strain away the cinnamon and cloves and add the almonds and sultanas to the pot - just before serving, add the port.

The proper way to do it though, is to let the sultanas “paddle” in dark rum for a few months before you make it. Some add a little vodka too.

This should keep you warm! Oh, and put your dancing shoes on!

I remember that stuff from Sweden. It definitely was something to get accustomed to, flavor wise. I'll have some for old-time's sake! How about some lutefisk and cream sauce with it too?!

Let me pour you a virtual one?

    DONE!

    Slick,

One Cafe Espanol! THere was an old radio bit -it was an underground tape- that had one line in the weather report.....

And it went something like this-

If you have a brass monkey on your porch, you better bring him in tonight or he'll freeze his bits off!

    DONE!

    G,
One large cuppa and a splash of Bailey's?
Who needs blankets when you have a cat!

    DONE!

    Randi....

    Paddle?

That made me laugh. I don't think I could swim that long!

    Let me try your recipe!

    DONE!

    LP,
THanks for the cookies.....I only eat the butter cookies this time of year!

    Drink?

    DONE!

    Jenn,

    Glogg and lutefisk for you!

I have seen that a few times-the fish- and after doing my bio classes wonder about the LYE!!!!!!

    DONE?

    KK,
I should not say this but, it has been hovering around 60 F here...and I was freezing I slept with sweats and socks on one night....and I HATE TO be covered up. I woke sweating later on and had to change my shirt....

    Ugh......BTW, Wanna Glogg?

    Oh shoot!

I am so off with my dates- Yes I will be Santa again this year.....
And I promise I'll behave myself.

    ----------

I did a Santa-dress up for a friend one year and had the most fun I have ever had in my life. It was kinda a bawdy party and I had the best time because there were about 40 people -adults and kids there and when the adult gals took a picture with "santa" I'd send them off with a goose and a loud, "A-HO-HO-HO"!

The kids never caught on and everyone had a great laugh about it. I still do!

I couldn't find the right word at the time... come to think about it, I still can't, but I knew you'd understand.

Edit* Ah, I got the right word from a post further down - "soak"!

I'll be OK temperature wise, Fister has just gone to warm up my bed.

Slick, it's some kind of secret extract, I don't have a clue how to make it, but being the smart girl I am, I WILL find out! If not, you'll have to come and visit me in Copenhagen.

The server room story reminds of when I was working for Bank of America, I was sitting right in front of the server room, doors open. It was pretty cool. John was shocked of the lack of security.

I'm ready for a Sleepy Time tea, please!

And btw, Santa! I have been so GOOD this year, you can ask anyone!

Now that I can almost type,

I'll take a LARGE Glogg, sounds interesting.

Besides, I need it. I was working on a machine, forgot I have stitches in my hand, and hit part of the machine with my right hand. OUCH!!!!

Come to think of it, I think Il'l just soak the thumb in some vodka.
