I wish you were too. I may have to drop them off at the Animal Rescue League if they're not placed by next weekend or they go to the nasty little pet store.

Have you checked with any local schools? Are any of your ratties "classroom pet" material in terms of personalities?

Too bad you can't get them to WI, I'd take them all in a heartbeat. Please don't give them away as classroom pets though, most classroom pets don't even have proper basic care.

Yeah, my rats are very, very nice. Especially Badger, I've held her from before her eyes opened.
I'm moving back to Illinois next weekend until after Christmas so depending on how far you'd like to drive you can have them. I could probably meet you near the border.

I'm sorry to hear you have to place your pets in new homes. How sad. I wish I could help out with the rats but I'm much too far away. I hope they find a good home. I hate to think of them going to a shelter or petstore Hopefully someone here will be able to foster them until they find good homes. Fingers are crossed. I know I'd take them if we lived closer.

The shelter is really very nice though. I much rather surrender them there than give them to someone I don't know who claims they'll take care of them. This is where I think I'll have to take them. http://www.arl-iowa.org/

Oooooh...I've been seriously wanting rats. We can't be too far away can we? I'm near the Lansing area in Michigan.

According to Google, we're about 4 hours away. I wouldn't mind driving except I won't have a car after next week and my parents are already driving me to the half way point of the person who is getting Oslo, and I'm not sure if they are willing to drive me (or lend me their car) on yet another trip.

Well, if you can I'd be more than willing to meet you like halfway or something. I wouldn't be able to do it until after December 20th though. :/ I would offer to do the whole round trip, but I'm sure my parents and car wouldn't be too happy.

I don't think my parents would like to have any animals in the house for more than a few days, and I'm going back next weekend. I can ask them though.
