The soft cones exist in Canada, Lara - I think you have to ask for them.

Or make one out of a GIANT fancy drink umbrella!

Taz that Collar is just the MOST fashionable attire one could wear whilst recoving post op! It could be a horrid plastic white one, who knows maybe it'll catch on! Welcome Home Taz

Taz looks fabulous! And the eyes while he's wearing the collar say it all, don't they?!

    Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.

Thanks everyone! He is doing so well. I'm only giving him the meds once a day. The last time I gave it to him most of it missed, but I didn't want to do another dose just in case. He'll be fine until tomorrow. Maybe I'll give him one before I go to work.

The collar is made out of a strong nylon material. Sorta like a gym bag or backpack would be made from. It is very nice for him. It lays down so he can still squeeze under the bed and it doesn't hinder eating or drinking. But it does stop him from getting to the incision.
I had to request the soft collar. They would have just given me the regular hard plastic one. He didn't fight me the first couple of days to put it on but now he sorta fights against it. But doesn't run away from me, which is good. I just feel bad that next week while I'm at work he'll have to stay in the collar ALL day. I will ask Bruce to give him time out of it if he can. But he works from home and wouldn't be able to watch him as closely (as I'd like him to) while it's off.
Shouldn't it be pretty well healed up here in a couple of days? It looks very good. I did notice a small area where it looked like blood seeped through, but it looks good today. I'm still paranoid of infection.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

I'm glad to hear that he's doing so well. I've always left the e-collars on my furkids until they had their stitches out just to be on the safe side. Poor Storm had to wear the ugly plastic kind because back then I didn't even know about the soft kind. Good luck.
