I say go for it. I've had mine for ummm like 4 or 5 years now. It wasn't really anything... the actual piercing didn't really hurt, but them putting the ring in after it was pierced did... but it wasn't that bad. I also had my tongue pierced once and I didn't really think that hurt at all.
I didn't have any swelling or redness when I pierced my nose. Make sure you post pics when you get it done.
