I had an eventful Birthday, that's for sure - but it ended nicely.
On Friday around noon, I noticed that my left ankle was swelling and it hurt to walk. I have a really high pain tolerance, so I was a little worried. By the time I got home from work, my ankle was swollen to about 3 times its normal size, was red, was showing signs of edema (I had ankle socks on and throught that night, I would take them off every 5 or so minutes and there would be a large indention!) and was really, really warm to the touch - that was WITH ice being constantly put on my ankle! It hurt so bad to walk and the pain was shooting up to my knee, ALL signs of a blood clot - I was REALLY scared.
Long story short, the ER doc says it was a spider bite and they gave me a ton of antibiotics. I got home at noon on my bday and spent the rest of the day in bed.
My family & friends took me to dinner and we had dessert at the new place. It was really fun.
THANKS SO MUCH for your cards, texts and well wishes. I'll write more later.
