How long our hospital stays are, are already dictated. That's how they decide how much the insurance covers and all that happy stuff. "Your insurance pays for ___ number of days of care after the heart surgery." You're not going to be staying longer unless there's issues.
I worked in health care too. I did billing and collections.
Either way you look at it, it's dictated.
I also lived overseas and dealt with socialized healthcare. As a non-citizen (I was covered as I was a minor in Sweden). I never had an issue with it.
Not that we're Sweden, cause we're not. We're a lot larger. However, they did manage to handle their health care rather well.
