I have not read all of the posts since my last posting. Marina, I did get your email.

Marina and her family are considering adopting Splinter as their indoor only kitty. I still have not got a chance to email back, but I will in a little bit when I get home. Splinter is still in my spare room right now (I am on my parents computer).

Just wanted to let everyone know I will answer all questions and such as soon as I get home. I am not avoiding anything! LOL I know everyone is wanting my thoughts and answers and such.

    I will be back!

    Thank you so much Michelle!

Ok. Marina I sent you an email.

I think that Marina is seriously wanting to adopt Splinter, she is in Ohio I believe. I really want to get him into a forever home.

It is not a HUGE rush to get him out, I can foster him as long as needed before a permanent home is ready, and transport set up/.

I have never had to set up transport before, so I am clueless how to do that. Well, one time I found someone going to Florida and had him drive a foster there and Rosethecopycat Picked kitty up, but that does not count. I will need help figuring out what and how to do this. Only problem, my transmission is going out on my car, so I probably would not be able to drive a very long distance...

I dont know if the "owner" will care, or even notice. Nothing has been said to me, and I have had him 2 full days. I imagine I will be asked and questioned, but that is it.

I really dont know the guy, to be honest. I know tidbits, and what is told to me by a friend of his, that lives in the neighborhood.

All I know if he needs a forever home, and I am willing to do whatever I can do to help get him that home.

I hope this clears up where this stands right now. I will update after me and Marina talk again Thank you for all of the offers and prayers and everything. I just love my PT family.

    Thank you so much Michelle!

Well, we love you too, Katie...you are one of the most compassionate people I have known. PT is full of them, each one standing up for these poor defenseless innocent animals, doing the right thing and saving a precious life.

Splinter looks like such a lovebug! For someone to treat him so shabbily is a crime.

Let us know how we can help. My offer still stands!

Sounds good Katie. Whatever works out best for Splinter.

If we can get some transporting arranged, like I said, I will help as long as I'm not at work. If you need an overnight or more than one for him somewhere along the way, I will more than gladly do that as well.

    Hugs to you all!

I have never arranged a transport before, but I have participated in them over the years. The first thing to do is find a route between your place and Marina's. That will give you an idea of how long the drive is. Then break it up into driving segments from 1-2 hours. After that it is a matter of selecting a weekend and asking for volunteers. It will likely take a month or so to get everything coordinated, but it can be done!

Good luck and I can contribute $ if need be.

I just found this post, We would be glade to do any thing too help this baby.
This includes transport (I've been known to drive 4 hours just for dinner), housing, PM, or money. To put a declaw out side, well let me put it this way, our Lenny is a declaw that was found outside and if I every find who put him out, it's not going to be pretty.

Thank you everyone for your support and kind words!

I will call Marina tonight and find out exactly where she lives. She could also meet the last driver to pick him up. I can drive a few hours as well. With a bad transmission, I would not want to go TOO far.. I cant afford to have the car worked on yet.

I guess the next steps (thank you emily the spoiled) is to vet him and find out directions!

If we cant get him straight to her, I guess we would need a "safe" house until transport could be worked out. I am not in a HUGE rush... I can wait until we find enough drivers.

Anyways, I will talk to her today and update later. THANK YOU ALL AGAIN!

I so hope that a transport will be arranged for Splinter, so he can get to a new indoor home, he looks like he's had a rough time. He also looks like a real love bug.

My suggestion is... put a map on here covering from NC to Ohio?, then each PTalker can see what part of the route they may be able to cover.

    Best of luck!

Have you asked the owner if you could have him? Poor baby - he looks sad. What about that little black goatee? Have you ever thought about just keeping him?

This owner does not need to be "asked" anything. He put a declawed cat outside!!!
Katie would keep him herself if she didn't already have 15 cats and 2 dogs.

I am bummed that I am on the wrong side of the country. All I can do is offer my mental support at this time.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

What a horrible story for this poor helpless kitty!

Thank you, Katie, for taking Splinter in and finding him a new safe and LOVING home!

If everyone else's plans fall through, he could come to TN.

Ok. Me and Marina and her husband Joe talked tonight for quite awhile. I truly think they want to bring him into their home, and love him forever.

Now we can go onto finding a transport, so tomorrow she is going to pm me her hometown, and I can find a map with a route on it...

SO I will update, as soon as I get this put together.

Cindy, mental support is just as important!

So please everyone keep your fingers crossed and good vibes for Splinter! We really apprieciate it!

And thanks Cindy. Yes we just cant adopt anymore to stay with us. I am overloaded already, and financially cannot take on another right now, forever.

I wont ask for this kitty, because if he says no, well, I would *POOF* him anyways, and that would be a dead give away. I dont want trouble, I just want a solution for this situation. The best one possible IMO.

    GOD, I love that cat!!!!

I wanted to check with everyone before I do this.

I'd Like to make *POOF* an entry in the Furrminology Thread and want to bive the right person credit for coining the term?

Also, Does anyone know who coined the term "Mewtiny"?

    I liked that one too!
