The husky boy is fine.
The Australian rescuers phoned his microchip company's number (Home Again.) Even tho' it was 1.00 am USA time, the company could provide the husky's call name & birthdate.... Monty & he's 9 years old.

This was a great help because he'd been thought to be younger than that. He's a handsome lad, in great condition & playful & affectionate.
The Husky Club in Australia circulated his name & birthdate among the breeders here. A breeder who had first imported him from the USA recognised these details. She contacted a second Australian breeder who'd owned him.
That second breeder had rehomed him to some people....whom no one could find to contact. The trail ended there.
So the second breeder went to the pound to get him out & to take responsibility for him now & in the future. So he's safe.
The Australian rescuers & breeders were determined that Monty would not have come all the way from the USA, to perish in a pound.
The US microchip company, Home Again....was great. So were the many people in the USA who offered to help.
