Summer has given me a new appreciation for fresh produce, fruits and vegetables, and I hate to see that part of it going away. But, even though we have not had an extremely hot summer (plenty hot, for sure), we haven't had sufficient rain in our area and are in the most extreme areas of drought in the US. If fall will bring cooler temps and some much needed rain, I have to say "bring it on". I love fall, the beautiful colors and the ability to open the windows and enjoy the cooler temperatures.

I've gotten to where I don't tolerate the heat well and because of that I no longer love summer like I used to. I think I got in our swimming pool maybe 8-10 times the whole summer whereas I used to be in it almost everyday. Between mowing the yard, watering all my flowers almost daily and keeping up with my Dad's garden I am over outside work and look forward to the long break!

California weather really isn't too bad any time of the year but we've had some very hot days this summer so I'm happy that it's almost over. We usually continue to stay warm in Sept. though. I think it's called Indian Summer. I love Fall because of the 70 degree weather and the beautiful leaves. Usually during the winter and some spring months it rains here a lot and I don't really like that too much so I guess Fall would have to be my favorite season.

Summer is my least favorite of the seasons, though I do like some of it. But I adore autumn, and Winter is great - yes, even in New England!

while i do love summer I am ready for Fall.
I love the color changes and the cooler weather.
I'm also ready for winter because i'll hopefully get to enjoy it this year instead of working out in the cold and hating it

Well, I said come on Fall, because Autumn is my favorite season. But I hate winter, and I will be wishing it is spring/summer again by the beginning of December. From the written responses, it does appear as if those in the warmer climes are glad that it will be getting cooler and those in the cooler climates are dreading the winter. Not too surprising, I guess.

I am sure that everyone is Ocean City will miss seeing that bathing beauty on the beach, though.

Of course she would be banished from the beach if she set paw on it until October. Ripley just loves the icky smells of dried seaweed. The last time I had him on the beach he was so engrossed in something that smelled awful that he didn't even see the wave coming.

I love all seasons, yeah even cold winters. I was born and raised in Connecticut and wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

I could not be more excited. The transition from summer into fall in my favorite part of the year. It means the nasty, humid, hot, muggy, and bright days are finally coming to a close for one more year and the beautiful, crisp, sometimes dim days of fall are coming. And even after that I have a full cold and dark winter to look forward to.

I like the summer because of the L-O-N-G days. I noticed that the sun is setting before 8 PM these days.

Add me to the " bring on the fall!' Summer is my least favorite season because of the heat - just don't tolerate it well. When fall comes, I love to open windows, get out the cooler weather clothing that covers more bumps - and especially - I LOVE to cook in the fall. Soups, stews, potroasts, comfort foods!!

It's not about fall- it's about that long wet, muddy and grey season that expects us from November to March and that will only have about 5 of these clear white-blue sunny days you call winter.
So I feel better in spring when I know the year will go up for a long time to come before it falls Times in which you do not worry about frozen roads, in which you are dressed in the morning in less than 5 minutes, no socks and pantyhose, when you can sit outside in the evening.
Of course a golden autumn day is a lovely thing- but .....see above.

You summed it up perfectly - opened windows, a different wardrobe to pull out of the closet and cold weather food like soups and stews not to mention the brisk air and the beauty of the trees! My poor lawn took a beating this summer from the pounding heat and is just starting to get its pretty green color back and now we are going through a batch of very warm weather this week - 90+ again which is making my fall yearnings even stronger!

Fall is my utmost favorite season!! I do love having my oldest son home with me in the summer, but he enjoys school.

I LOVE the thoughts of pumpkin picking, pumpkin pie, a Yankee candle burning a nice apple scent in the house, with the cool breeze coming thru the window. I love the changing leaves. I love bon-fires this time of year too. Bring it all on...I love fall!!

Summer is my least favorite season. Fall and Winter are tied in the middle, with a slight edge to Fall because of the hunting seasons and the woods showing off their color..

But my hands down favorite is Spring. Spring means Turkey Season. But more than that, I just LOVE being out in nature in the spring before dawn and watching the Springtime world wake up. When Turkey hunting, you are fully camouflaged, head to toe. When you blend in that well, you get to see a lot of very, very neat things. Last year I watched a pair of Racoons play with eaqch other for like an hour. Made a ruckus and scared the Turkeys away, but it was worth it. Also, a Red Fox nearly walked right into me.

    Yeah, I LOVE spring.
