Today kitty was taken to the vet to get tested, vetted and spayed.

The vet said she has ear mites, is negative on all disease, so they went ahead with the spay. Since she was so skinny, noone knew that she was actually pregnant. I feel so bad for her, but I think it is best for her. Since she is so skinny and frail, the vet will keep her until Wednesday afternoon.

Please pray that momma cat is ok, and that the she has a wonderful life from now on.... Melanie says she is so sweet and she is glad she adopted her!

    Thank you so much Michelle!

Please be responsible, spay and neuter your pets!

Katie,Thanks for keeping us updated about her. I'm so glad to hear that she was negative on all of those nasty diseases. Ear mites are very easy to treat so I'm sure she'll get rid of these in no time.

I'm sorry to hear that she was already pregnant but I'm so glad that you were able to rescue her because she and or her kittens may not have survived. I hope that she recovers quickly from her spay. I know that she's now in good hands and has a very loving forever home to go back to. Please pat yourself on the back for another wonderful rescue.

I'm just now seeing this but it sounds like a great outcome for Honey. Her new home sounds like a very good one.

I'm sure she will do fine from her spay. My Scout was pregnant when rescued but they didn't know it until the spay. She suffered a hematoma (sp?) at the incision site but that had nothing to do with the pregnancy. She recovered 100% quickly.

    You did good Katie!!!

Great job Katie, I too know the problems with multi cat homes. All we can do is try our best. It seems that you have done just that. If we had a bigger home we, like you, we would have many more but space is limited. So you just have to draw the line some where. Good luck and god bless.
