The people that did this to the poor innocent little thing deserve all the terrible things I can imagine.

Poor baby, I hope you find love and have a happy life.

    Thank you so much Michelle!

I hope they catch that redneck SOB and give him the strictest punishment allowed by law. Something tells me that's not gonna happen. Why didn't someone at least get the license! Or a description of the truck. Poor sweet baby. I hope he gets a furrrever home he deserves.

    UGH!!!

    Update

Named "Freeway" for now - please click link to suggest other names.

    http://www.caaws.org/adoptions/cats/freeway.htm

    July 13, 2008
Freeway remains stable, immobilized in a small kennel. She will be visiting a bone specialist at LSU Small Animal Clinic on Monday or Tuesday. Freeway is a very friendly kitten, showing no signs of aggression, never attempting to bite or scratch, even when in horrible pain after her leg was broken. Very creative name suggestions continue to arrive.

Freeway remains stable over the weekend, becoming more friendly, less frightened, and is wanting to play.

    Surgery maybe not needed?
    July 11, 2008:
As we continue to receive public support and concern for Freeway's well-being, Freeway visited another veterinarian (Dr. Mooney) who X-rayed her, confirming that the bone had not shifted. Again, splinting could not be done due to the area of the break as well as the size of the tiny, nearly 2 lb. kitten. It was decided that a bone specialist at LSU should be consulted for splinting, if surgery was not advised. Freeway is becoming much more trusting and wants out of her crate. She has been moved into an equally small, but open wire kennel so that she can see what's going on around her.

    July 9, 2008:
Due to the number of recent animal cruelty cases in the Baton Rouge area, local television stations and The Advocate were interested in covering the story. We are overwhelmed by the generosity and concern by everyone. Pledges for donations for the Freeway's medical expenses began to arrive by phone and email, as well as name suggestions. Continue to send these name suggestions.

Thanks Catty, I must have missed the update on the news and was wondering how the kitten was doing. The vets at LSU are great for helping out the orginazations around here when they are needed. I was hoping they would name her Miss River but Freeway is good. Let's hope she don't need surgery after all she has already been through!

Who could do such a thing to this adorable little face?! You'd have to be totally heartless and have no conscience at all, I swear.

There are WAY to many angry violent people in the world.
This man should be punished as though it were a human being tossed in the river.
I know some won't agree with me but that's how I feel the laws should change about cat abuse as well as other animal abuse.
They should get the same sentence as if it were human!
Then, maybe the world would wake up a bit!

it would be great to see these kind of people behind bars forever or just a very long time
so they aren't near any people, cats/dogs...anything they can abuse because of their
    viloent craze!

i know if i saw abuse in front of me...without thinking of myself going to jail(which i'd end up in,of course)...i'd freak and dive on the guy...accually the guy would probably kill me before i could hurt him,but i'd do it out of instinct knowing how precious these cats/kittens are...it's so unbelievable how smart and full of love these cats/kittens have.
they are the greatest creatures on Earth...to me.

We should be (well...i am) honered to have them on our Planet...their so full of love and help us love.

I just freak knowing this cat got tossed over like that.

i wonder if the guy in the truck said to his kid he was going to toss it over the bridge because the kid forgot to do his chores,or didn't eat his string beans.

or he was jealous of the way his girlfriend or wife was giving it attention?
    UGH!!!
I have to stop thinking of this...it's just to overwhelming to know these kind of people are exsist.

Thank You Kim for this wonderful siggy

I have to totally agree with you on this statement we should be honored to be on this planet with them! They are the most amazing creatures on earth. I can't tell you how many times I look into their eyes and they look so deeply into my soul. So deep... unless you are an animal lover you could never understand!! They are amazing I am so thankful everyday for love and companionship of these amazing creatures. I just wish that everyone on this planet would open their hearts and let them in for just one minute... just then maybe this world could possibly learn how to truely love....I think that is what these creature teach people...As we all know...
