Prayer Thread for Zippy-Kat's *MOM*

Thanks for your continued support, guys.

Mom had 3-4 days of extreme tiredness/weakness but otherwise is doing great. We went for the one week check up this past Wednesday and the doctor was extrememly pleased with the bloodwork (cell counts, etc.).

This Wednesday she has an appointment with our hairdresser; she's going to get her hair cut really short so that the hairloss (it's pretty much a given - 3 of the 5 chemo drugs cause it) won't be such a shock. It is "just hair" but it's also self image.

I don't recall exactly how this came about but we had an inside "joke" about envisioning the chemo as Kung Fu Panda, slipping in and kicking cancer butt. SomeANGELbunny sent us a KFP in the mail and he is AWESOME. I can't tell you how much that has lifted my mom's spirits. His phrases (and some of his moves ) have become incorporated into our daily vocabulary. {THANK YOU!}

What great news that the bloodwork looks good! It's the little victories that smooth out the journey. Yes, it's just hair and will grow back. Think of it this way. She has a chance to try on wigs of different colours and maybe become a stunning redhead, a blond bombshell, or a beautiful brunette. This was a thought that I entertained myself.

Continued prayers on this Monday morning and beyond.
