Spoiler ... if you haven't seen the Top Chef finale yet!

I was very glad that Stephanie won. She seems like a genuinely nice person, as well as an excellent chef. Richard made some mistakes, and admitted he "choked," but I was just glad that Lisa didn't win, as she always struck me as too arrogant and abrasive.

    -----------

The end kinda fizzled out....I thought the chefs helping out was kinda neat and pulling them from was cruel! What an opportunity! To cook with a legend.

The Richard thing kinda puzzled me at first. I sat there and wondered about him doing it as a 'pity move' then I saw that he was sincere and took great pride in what he cooked.-

Yeah, Lisa wasn't the easiest person to root for..

    --------------

I watched Dinner Impossible last night and was torn between not liking Irvine.and felling sorry for him. But then I started to laugh and thought about Marc Summers and Boob Tooshman! SUCKERS!!!!!!

With the Martha Stewart Machine showing up more and more on on TVFN I can't help but wonder if she has anything to do with the tightening up the screening of the people on the shows?

It really hurts Summers because it's HIS production company- He produces the programs and then sells them to TVFN. It's like the Alton Brown confession. I always thought he had some kind of Chem/Food prep schooling.

Nope. I can read from a script and act out food skits. No, I don't have a banana dance!

He fell outta favor for me. I know it's hard to get ideas for so many programs, but to make it sound like you are the main brain, that bugs!

When I cook a steak, I always make sure that I turn up the heat to full burner. I came up with this idea when I....

Dude, it was the script writers!!!!

    --------

    Last thing about Irvine.

He'll show up on Survivor or one of those reality shows where they put disgraced celebs into a house and make them compete against each other.

BTW, Martha got a second chance and she's a FELON!!!!

I am having a terrible case of pity for Irvine myself. He just looks pitiful now to me.

Looking forward to seeing the show tomorrow night with Mothra.

    MOTHRA!

    LOVE IT!

She is like a friggin moth that you get inside the house during the summer.
It shows up at the strangest times and bugs the crap outta you.

    ----------

Ted Allen has a new show scheded for the TVFN.

It's described as "Good Eats, Mythbusters" and another show I can't remember.

I saw Ted Allen walking down Hollywood Blvd a few months ago. He knows he's TA and he walks like it too! Hard to miss.....

He's gonna do stuff like finding out if an apple a day, does keep the doctor away and how long chewing gum takes to digest....

    Here's some suggestions from me.....

How to keep the price of corn down.
How does salmonella get into the food chain.
Why I only get two pickle chips in my Big Mac.
How to get food into Darfur.

You know, real stories about food and how to keep people from starving!

I still can't understand why they give these people so little time to complete the challenge. It ruins everything.

Mothra tried to act friendly but it just isn't possible for her. She never eats sloppy Jane's/Joe's --yada yada yada

I looked into my crystal ball and I really think Lisa will be the winner. She seems to make the judges happy almost every time. Just a guess.

Thank goodness that they finally told the little blond to tone it down. Do we really believe she wasn't putting on a big act like she implied?

We talked about it afterwards, and we think the blonde could have said, "Well, my target audience is the novice cook - you don't fall into that category, that's for sure!"

Martha came of as completely rude to her, not gracious at all.

I think Lisa is so stressed out and so wound tight she may not last the whole time!

I think the "little blonde" is trying so hard because she wants it so badly, and has been rehearsing it in her head for 4 years! She does need to tone it down some, and maybe she will now?

so what did I miss on the Next Food Network Star? Is the Lisa creature gone yet? I think Nipa the Spice Queen should have been dumped last week after her little exit scene... last year's winner isn't even on food network anymore ...

Karen, I think you're so right about the little blonde. She's been rehearsing this thing for years. I hope she takes some of the enthusiasm down a notch. She seems to have a spirit and energy like Ricochet Rachel. Mothra can never be nice to anybody. Her huge empire, and ginormous head, hinder her from being polite and real. I can't help but wonder what she does eat
Lisa is pretty emotional. I respect Mothra for being so successful but I can't see crying over meeting her. I think other additional emotions brought out the waterworks. I see now that she takes a pretty bad fall on the next show. She gets up with food all over her face. It looks brutal and so does she. The average person probably would have gotten badly hurt in such an accident.
I don't know if she can hold up or not. It seems to me that we have enough women on Food Network. Do we really need another one? It might be time for something a little different.

Elyse: Lisa is still there. She was the one that won the challenge along with another fella-I can't remember who right now. I think it was the bald black guy.
Nipa makes everything too spicy to eat. How interesting is a show going to be with all Indian cooking? Oooooh, that's right, we have one with all Italian don't we? I don't see Nipa with the personality she needs for the network.
I would love to find out what happened to Amy Findlay from last year. I voted for the other contestant. I thought she would have been alot better. I think her name was Rori. She was pretty good.

I didn't get a chance to post this on sunday night.......

The judges on TNFNS are not from this planet.

What is the deal with their fixation with the 30 minute time frame?

Why are they fricking rude? And what is it with their bipolarity?
I don't think that they know why they are there and it shows as they keep changing the criteria.
They want bubbly, but think the contestants are fake? They need look no farther than the on air bozos they have on now.

I have to laugh at Danny Boome....Too many slapshots to the skull, Sunny Anderson licking her fingers while cooking and all the rest of the regular fare.

Their confused and contradictory comments just reinforce my idea that running a food channel and judging talent do not go hand in hand!

    ----------------------------

Mothra Stewart rarely eats Sloppy Joes.

And probably has never used too little toilet paper in her life.

During last night's show she showed that she is the Queen of All That is Perfect When It Comes to the Kitchen. She looked like she floated over the floor and treated the contestants with all the dignity of a piece of poop picked up in a dog run.

She could not have been bothered by what the cooks showed her and if she 'was' interested she gave them a little eye contact, "Are you kidding me? You brought me here for THIS?"

I did feel sorry for you Mothra when you went to jail, It must have been painful to have to talk to the little people-you know, the ones that eat sloppy joes, drink coffee stored in a can and eat danish, bought at a gas station mini mart and wrapped in cellophane.

Oh, LOLOLOLOLOL, she probably ate a sloppy for the first time, and once a week thereafter, when she went to the clink. A subtle reminder that you thought what you did with your stocks still wasn't wrong. Cross me off your Christmas list, will ya?

I loved the Booby Fake comment about stealing the recipe to put on his restaurant menu......Struggling to get more ideas, eh?

    My prediction?

Some lawyer is out there and will soon file a 'Intellectual Property' lawsuit on behalf of a contestant when these recipes show up in a TVFN cook's eatery....

Time to go eat some breakfast, I got 30 minutes to come up with my signature bowl of cereal and toast.....with a twist, of course!

Did anybody see the episode that was on yesterday of Everyday Italian? This is the one that Giada has a friend of her's there and she's teaching her to cook for her inlaws.

Giada treated the woman like an imbecile!! I honestly think she was embarrassed by the way Giada treated her. Giada was making a big deal if the girl knew what a spoon was. It was over the top. Hey Giada!! You're not the only person that can throw some pasta together.

Speaking of pasta, I think Giada puts way too much pasta water in her pasta dishes. Normally, the pasta is floating. Is that appetizing? Why water down the sauce?

Obviously, the 30 minute time limit is too strict. Especially when you have a woman fall face first on the set. Not a pretty picture. Perhaps her lawyer has stepped up and he will ultimately demand a win for her.

LOL LOL LOL 30 minute cereal and toast with a twist.......hilarious!! And, it's a signature dish. That's what I call my Grapenuts too

I use the extra 25 minutes to taunt the others in the kitchen and read the news paper!

I can see the gal that won last year at a streetside bistro, trying to get the locals to recognize her!

Thanks, Elyse. I had no idea. I know how much she loved France. Good for her. She never seemed really suited for the bright lights anyway. Can we get Rori back?

It's now two weeks later and the Lisa creature is still there. I hate to admit this, but she is starting to grow on me. Jennifer was eliminated last night and I was not surprised. I am rooting for Shane and Kelsey, though. Lisa is too much like last year's winner (Amy).
