I've always had success with giving pills with any dog. You just have to make sure to restrain them properly (I have to use my body/legs so they won't back away from me), get them in a headlock with one arm and with your other hand pry their jaw open and push the pill with your finger as far back as you can and down INTO the esophagus.
If you have a fractious dog though this isn't smart since you don't want to get bit but idk I've never had trouble pilling dogs. Some people don't push the pill back far enough so my suggestion I suppose is just to make you you have him restrained and push the pill back as far as possible then hold his mouth shut![]()
