I'm sorry hon that you're so unhappy with your job. Hang in there, maybe you'll feel differently with a little time.

Is there another area you can switch to?

And don't sweat it about the Sunday schedule. If they are dumb enough to forget you can't work on a Sunday, ignore it! Not your problem.

(Maybe keep an eye out for another job closer to home?)

Working at a job that you hate is the pits, especially when you were so excited about it. If this woman continues to yell at you, let 'er yell. If she is downright abusive, that's another story but sometimes people are just mouth-o-matics and it's directed at other people but it's really that they're yelling at themselves. In the grand scheme of things, she's but a blip on the radar screen. She probably hates her job even more than you hate yours except that you're in the catbird seat because you won't be doing this forever. She probably will be. Flick her off your shoulder like the little gnat that she is and say "NEXT!". (To yourself, of course. )

    Mary

Okay, I just got back from work and I must admit I actually like my job now since I worked in a different area today. I didn't have to see the lady that always yells at me. That makes it much better then it was previously. I never hated the working part of my job, just the fact that they didn't take me off Sundays and the fact that I always worried about getting yelled at. My friend said she has had problems with her in the past so, as long as I don't see her I think I'll be okay. I enjoy helping people and making them happy, it's just getting yelled at that pisses me off. I am going to see if I can request working in the area I did today so I don't have to see her again.

I know I sound really two-faced, but it I think I over-reacted last night when I said I HATE my job. It was just two things I hated, not really the job overall. I don't know why I said that. I also took care of the Sundays off thing, so hopefully it's all good.

You said it because you needed to vent. Everyone here understands, trust me. I'm glad you got to work in a different area that you like your job again. Huzzah!
    Blessings,

Believe me, when you have to work with someone you don't like, it makes the job really intolerable. I was so excited to move to teach in middle school, and to have an assistant to work with, and now in my 3rd year there, I can't wait to get out. When you work with someone who does whatever they can to make you miserable, or to undermine you, it just makes work really unpleasant.

I really hope you can stay in the new area and avoid the other area. Nothing is worse than getting up and hating the thought of having to work with certain people all day. It's depressing as all get out.

CONGRATS ON THE JOB ALYSSA!!! Sorry I'm just seeing this. I hope you continue to be away from that lady and everything continues to go well. I know you'll do great in any job.

One of my first jobs was with a boss that was a tyrant. He was so mean to me I wanted to cry all the time. I pushed through it and put up with him. It was a character building experience to say the least. It's where I learned patience. Years later, I looked back and admired myself so much for getting through it. I also realized I learned more from him that I could ever have learned in school. He taught me accounting, taxes, and many other things. He was a great man. Very hard to tolerate but a super smart fella.

It really is hard to work with someone that you dread working with. If you have to work with her again, I hope things go better. Good luck and best wishes!!

Glad everything is going alright. I also applied at the Six Flags by me but I'm not going to work there because they are really strict about appearance.
Also glad you like working, I seem to be allergic to actual work. That's why I work at a barn and a museum. (I'm actually at work right now)

I decided to give you guys another update. ^^

The girl that always yelled at me is actually nicer then I originally thought. She's nicer now, because I guess I've gotten the hang of handling the money now. I still like XXX better then XXX now. I've actually been stocking the games more then actually working though, which isn't so bad. That way I can't get in trouble for screwing up the money Anyway, yesterday I actually hurt myself at work but I didn't report it because the supervisors flip out over us getting hurt. They want us going to first aid for even the slightest cuts so they don't get infected so I do understand but my friend said she spent around a half hour there. I burned my elbow on one of the motors in the back of the game. It didn't hurt THAT bad but it hurts everytime I hit my elbow on something. I blame no one but myself though, I'm not exactly a genius.

    XXX

ETA: I quit this department and am in a much better department then I was last year. I can't believe I ever worked in games.

You are so lucky that you have a job you love. I can't say the same even though folks would kill to have my job.

Congratulations on how things have worked out. I thinked what you have learned from this experience will serve you well long after the earned $$ have been spent. Things can change or eventually work out for the better when given half a chance. You can be proud of yourself for not only holding down a job but for following through a difficult period in the process. You get an *Atta Girl* from me.
