When a friend lost his mother, another friend said to him "I'm sad for you and I'm happy for you". He explained that he, of course, he was sad that he no longer had his beloved mother with him but that he was also happy because his mother was at peace and so was my friend, who had taken care of her for many years. It was a rough road for both of them. And it was a rough road for you and Ally, Jenn. Not only did you not let Ally down, you gave her a chance that perhaps someone less patient and compassionate might not have. Try to see the situation as you and the vet tech being the persons who gave Ally a better life, both here and elsewhere. She couldn't continue the way she was; something had to change for her and, although it isn't the change you and all of us were hoping for, it was the change that she needed in order to find peace.
