Catty - I think Liz and others think this is just another page in a screenplay - not unlike another member we had until recently. So to quote you as to what you said to me once when I was shocked at something you said to someone, and I said I can't believe you had the balls to say that - and you said "balls? you betcha" so here .....
"Snide? You betcha!" b/c its another been there done that mentality.
I don't know if its true or not - but I did think she seemed rather cold/callous in her description of events.

OK - I have never known luckies4me to dramatize anything, not in the threads I have seen in the past (not that I have caught all of them).

I figure someone that seems 'unemotional' in this case either a) has seen a lot in their life so this doesn't throw them, or b) is still in shock and the upset will come later.

But - keep checking the newspaper and media...cops may have quashed info right now.

we are not in any way shape or form talking about sparks19 she isn't the OPENING POSTER and she hasn't even posted to this thread. But you are right - sparks19 doesn't dramatize anything - I'm sure she's too busy with a beautiful baby girl.
but sorry - you just lost your credibilaty in defending luckies4me.
Cass has had a lot go on in her life - and we have heard most of it.

woops - I had to correct that spelling in an earlier post, which I caught. I missed this one.

    Sorry, luckies!

She seems to have summed a lot of stuff up quite coherently in #64 on this thread...and used it to try and help someone:

And if there is more to hear on this case, then we will hear about it.

    I'll wait.

ETA: Did a search of Eugene OR news (tv mostly) and there's not a whisper about this. Odd...since many news stations have police scanners and are onto something like white on rice - instantly.

Let's see what luckies has to say about this.

WOW, seems like everyone here wants to be their own little investigators.

First off, I posted about this months ago. Yes, having druggie neighbors upstairs is a bit unerving, but I talk to this guy at least once a week. It's either to borrow the laundry key, to charge his cell phone (since they have not had electricity in god knows how long, which is also a requirement here at these apartments), to put milk in our fridge or any other number of things he dreams up of asking us. In fact, my bf saw Brad yesterday morning walking out of the 711, and that morning he went to the neighbors next to me to ask for some hydrogen peroxide. They asked him if he was going to cook meth, in which he replied, "No, I only smoke pot". Ya....

Anyway, the reason why they wanted me to call the girlfriend (liz) was to casually ask if they had heard from Brad, as until this morning no one knew where he was. I didn't feel like my life was in jeorpardy doing this. I had to call her anyway to see how she was doing, as when she lived here my roomate Eric and I made an effort to reach out to her and her baby as best we could, and Clancy said she would have liked to hear from me, hence the reason I was to call. I tried calling Clancy back today but he didn't answer.

I talked to the medical examiner this morning and he told me there was no longer a need to call her, or him, as they now know where Brad is. He's at Sacred Heart. I'm assuming from a drug overdose, but who knows. He didn't say. I'm assuming that if it was a drug overdose that he will be arrested after he is well enough to be released?

One thing the medical examiner mentioned was that they wouldn't even perform an autopsy on the man, because things like this happen so frequently. However, since I had mentioned to them that Clancy was here this weekend on "business" it kind of threw everyone for a loop. But, now that loop is gone, since we know where Brad is.

I also learned that the man who passed away had lunch with his father at 4 pm yesterday, which means he had died only about an hour after this. His father does not live in the state, but was here for medical treatment. How sad, to come here and visit your son and then the next day find out he has died from a drug overdose. My mother said this though, it could have been worse if the father was here and wasn't able to see his son, and then found out he died, instead of not having seen him at all.

When I went upstairs to look at his body they had his drivers license which was from Arkansas, but he had mail to that address, and they had also found a prescription pill bottle with the address on it, so apparently he had been living there, I had just never seen him. Of course, most of their traffic is at night when I'm "trying" to sleep.

One thing I find interesting is they told me that they usually do not contact the landlords? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought it was law for a landlord to be contacted if drugs are involved. I told me roomate about this and he said he would talk to his friend who does maintenance on these apartments and then he'll get back to us. The upstairs neighbors told me they have called several times about their noise and drug use, but nothing has happened. We too have called, and they were given a notice for trafficing and told that if they get another complaint they would be evicted, however it has been months since we called.

Oh, and as far as it being mentioned on the news, I'm assuming it wasn't news enough to be mentioned, however I'm going to try and pick up a paper today and see if anything is mentioned in the police section. I doubt there will be an obituary in our paper, since he was not from here. But yes, I've seen nothing on the news, and no one from any news company showed up. Apparently this happens so frequently it's not worth mentioning.

Also, get this! This is how stupid people on drugs are! A guy was upstairs this morning, digging around the apartment. Not very smart. I took down his plate number and gave it to the medical examiner. I don't know if this is the man who was with the girl who had phoned 911 or not, but either way, you've got to be pretty stupid to walk back into a house a man just died at to get your belongings.

My roomate and I went upstairs to the apartment earlier as the door was wide open. The house is absolutely disgusting and looks more so during the day. We tried shutting the door, slamming it even, but it will not shut. I'm sure I will see more people up there though, at least until the landlords get their heads together and do something. In all honesty, I highly doubt they will do anything, seeing as he's been reported to them several times.
