In our store, if it's a debit/credit you don't need a PIN number to purchase things. Just say "charge" and there's no PIN needed. HOWEVER, I always verify the signature.
Turn the card into the bank
Take out a little something for your troubles THEN turn it into the bank
Don't turn the card in and go on a mad shopping spree
Empty the account then turn it into the bank
