We watched The Departed on HBO Sunday afternoon. Several people have commented on this movie in earlier posts. It lived up to the descriptions - violence, language - but it was really good. I'm glad I saw it at home instead of the theater. It's long, and my bladder is small

I watched Transformers, wild hogs and 1408 over the past few weeks.

Is anyone else looking forward to seeing "I am legend?"..I can't wait!

OH MY GOSH. I am really excited about seeing this movie. I hadn't even heard of it until a couple nights ago. It looks fantastic, Will Smith is a wonderful actor.

I just saw American Gangster and it was incredible. Brutal, but there was a lot of heart. I loved seeing Russell Crowe and Denzel Washington together, they were both great. That film is where I saw the preview for I am Legend. The preview made me cry, so I know it'll be a good one.

I know this isn't a "movie", but Band of Brothers is absolutely a must see. Even if you're not necesssarily a fan of war films, this is a stand out among war films. It really is beautifully done, and is about real people in real situations, which makes it all the more touching. It really makes me feel proud to be an American and in complete awe and admiration of the men who fought in World War II. It is a mini-series that was on HBO a few years ago (maybe 2001) and is definitely something I plan to watch many times.

On a lighter note, I saw Surf's Up and it is great fun! I am planning to buy the soundtrack first, as it is really upbeat and makes me smile.

I saw 300 and Long Way Round, American Beauty and the Chumscrubber.

    300 was OK.

Long Way Round was fantastic. 5 days after watching it I am still engrossed by the whole premise of riding a motorcycle around the world....

Am Beauty and Chumscrubber are the kind of quirky movies I love.

I just watched Vacancy and it was so scary! I loved it. I've also rented 1408, Evan Almighty and Planet Terror from the Grindhouse movie series.

I love American Beauty. Long Way Round sounds great, have you seen the trailer for a film called Into the Wild? It sounds awesome and it makes me want to go off and have an adventure like that, too!
