I'm stuck at work, too. I want to do the same thing. And I was picturing Dasher because because of the Lab mixes. That woman must not have an ounce of feeling in her. Also, I was remembering how hard it was to put Duke down and then that callous witch comes in there and doesn't even shed one tear. Unbelievable.

I would never ever ever ever EVER work for a clinic that did convenience euthanasia. I'd rather live in a box and eat garbage. RIP pups. *Huggles Jasper*

The title made me curious. Never in my wildest imagination did I expect to read this. I should have stopped after the first paragraph but I was so stunned I couldn't stop reading. I thought it was a joke.

I'm going to vomit. Seriously. I guess I'm stupid and naive. I didn't know vets do convenience euthanasia.

What goes around, comes around. The *B* will answer to a higher power someday. I hope there's mercy on her soul.

    Poor pups.

First, the fact that a vet did this, without the dogs even being in poor health, is a major concern. What kind of vet does that?! I could never ever work with a vet that did things like that for the convenience of the owner.

Secondly... the woman needs to get some serious help. You just don't do that to your pets.

Did the vet or any other techs say anything about saving the dogs?! What kids of practice is this?!

That was my exact thought!!! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I don't know which makes me feel sicker the fact that the owner requested such a serivce instead of bringing them to her local spca OR the fact that the vet did it NO questions asked. I certainly would steer clear of them and their practice. If not to go further and report them to the state

Well, here's the mission statement from www.invma.org:

Mission of the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association

The Indiana Veterinary Medical Association promotes animal health, animal well-being and public health, advances the veterinary medical profession, and is dedicated to the highest standards for professionalism and ethics.(updated 3/2007)

Sure doesn't sound like this vet is following that.

I should have pointed this out in the origonal post. The vet did ask the techs if any of us could take the dogs home. If I didn't bring the puppy home the other day I would have scooped the Pittie pup right up. The vet was not happy about doing this. He works for another vet. He had to. He complained about it the whole time. He wanted to save the dogs, but we simply couldn't.

    OMG!!!

Indeed someone should have stepped in and contacted a rescue.

I hope this lady burns in hell for this and never owns another animal as long as she lives.

    RIP Loki, Nate and Kappy.
Your lives ended too soon, my you find peace at the RB.

I wouldn't work for a vet that would put healthy dogs asleep. here, NONE of the vets here will put a healthy dog or cat to sleep. those poor babies. I hope that lady rots in hell for putting her healthy dogs to sleep. someone could have taken them in.

    OMG

I absolutely cannot imagine ANYONE doing this. Like others have said, may she rot in the worst place imaginable!

My vet would NEVER have done anything like this. He would have had her surrender them to him and he would have looked for homes for these poor souls.

RIP sweet ones.... play hard at the RB and know that MOST people are not as cold and heartless as this lady. You are now free to run and be happy wittle doggies!

I can't stop crying!! Anyone who could do such a thing is a monster!!! I would not have been able to do it. I would have taken them home with me until I could find a place for them. That woman is without a soul!! Those sweet puppies are @ the RB now! RIP

I don't care what the circumstances were. I will never, ever forget this as long as I live. Almost 24 hours later, I'm still sick. I have a sensitive stomach and haven't eaten since yesterday. This was wrong, plain wrong.

I agree. I can't stop thinking of the poor dogs and how they must have felt when they were there. There's no reasoning to condone this inhumane behavior.
