Phew! So glad to hear it's only a UTI! But they're no fun either Giant hugs to the kissy boy!! Hope his neck clears up too!

And Miss Kia, are you taking after Jack these days? He's been extremely finicky when it comes to food time too the last couple days.

Oh good, glad to see this update Kimmy! My collie Willie used to get UTIs off and on. He seemed to get them worse on some foods than others, I had to switch a few times. Easy to treat, though the prescription food/meds can be expensive! Glad to hear Kia checked out too. Tash used to become disinterested in her food now and then, especially in the summer. She never leaves her raw though, I guess that's yummy enough to keep her interested

Awwww...poor chip, but at least a UTI is nothing serious, and you will be back to your old self in no time.

Oh Jess, I hope I don't have to change foods. With Chipper's sensitive tum tum, it'd be a pain to find something he could stomach.

Yep, nothing like that expensive grub.

My goodness Phred! Glad my two don't turn the apartment into a speedway after a nail trim.

Sorry I missed this thread Kimmy but I'm glad to hear that everyone is doing good now. I hope the meds and shampoo make Chipper feel better and tell Kia it's ok to be picky every once in a while (Roxey's like that sometimes too)

    Kisses to them both!

Chipper's getting better. Not nearly drinking as much or going out as often like he was. He did have two accidents in the house though. Once last night before I got home and once today. No warning on that one. I was in the bathroom, he swung his head in, turned around and peed in the hallway.

Kia is still being really picky. She'll eat the wet food but won't touch the dry (much to Chipper's delight ). Andy's going to give her tuna and rice tonight.

Sorry to have missed this too, Kimmy, but I'm glad I got to the best part. I'm sure glad The Chippster is feeling better! Has "Mz Thang" (funny, Stace...) gone back to her regular grub?

    Thanks guys.

Chipper had an accident on Friday, but overall, he's drinking and peeing normal.

Kia is well....Kia. *laughs* She doesn't eat with the same gusto as before when it comes to her regular food and regular treats. Sometimes there is food left over in the bowl.

However she went ape over a venison bone treat and I picked up some all natural treats at the Pet Expo that she is ga ga over. And she definitely didn't say no to the frozen yogurt treat she got at the expo.

Andy suspects she's just bored with her food. So we're trying to figure out how to jazz it up.

A T-Bone Steak smothered in Krunchies might hit da spot!

    For Chip ~

Consider a Dawgie Diaper - available at Petsmart ...
They hold a sanitary pad and fit around his rear end, covering his "thingy" -
If he has an accident, the pad sops it up.

Bowser wore one at night for a while when his bladder stone was causing problems.

He didn't like it till I started telling him he was wearing his Jammies at night.
Then he didn't seem to mind so much!

    One CAUTION ---
Ya GOTTA remember to take the Jammies **OFF** before you pop the door open
and send 'em out for a morning outie!
He'll be able to lift a leg a lot quicker than you can notice the problem and try
to scamper after him hollerin "WAIT a minute - WAIT A ... Awwww ... NUTZ!"

    Doggie Urinating a lot

My past experience with both a CAT and a DOG... suddenly urinating a lot... drinking a lot.... etc was that of diabetes... I finally had to get the BOX(s) of SMALL(not large) diabetes needles and inject them twice a day with a small amount of Insulin(which I purchased at Sam's Club).....

NOW...the dog urinating in the house all of a sudden.. That could be caused by either(or both): a) the onslaught of diabetes and/or b) if you recently left your doggie in a kennel. Leaving a dog in a kennel forces them to urinate and doo-doo IN their kennel so when they go HOME, they carry that temporary trait with them so they have to be re-trained to go outside when they want to do their business.

Diabetes is not the end of the world but the problem is giving them injections twice a day...whatever you do (if you have to start giving injections) is to buy the big box of SMALL NEEDLES....
